Love, Shells, Terry, Patti, Dad & family Public Hearing Baker County is eligible to apply for a 1997 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) from the Oregon Economic Development Depart- ment. Community Development Block Grant funds come from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development through the Oregon Economic Development Department. The state will accept applications between March 3, 1997, and March 7, 1997 for Community Facilities, Handicapped Accessibility, Housing Rehabilitation and Technical As- sistance projects, Applications for Public Works projects are taken all year. Approximately $16 million will be awarded to Oregon non-metropolitan cities and counties in 1997. The most any city or county can receive will be up to $750,000 for a construction project and/or $10,000 for a Technical Assistance grant. A public hearing will be held by the Baker County Court at 2 p.m. January 15, 1997 in the County Court chambers on the first floor oftha Baker County Courthouse, 1995 Third Street, Baker City, OR 97814. The purpose of this hearing is for the Baker County Court to obtain citizen views and to respond to proposals and questions about: - community development and housing needs, especially the needs of low and moderate income persons, as well as cther needs in the community that might be assisted with a Community Development Block Grant project. The performance of Baker County in carrying out its community development responsibilities. Written comments are also welcome and must be received by January 13, 1997 at the Baker County Court office, 1995 Third Street, Baker City, OR 97814. Comments may be faxed to (541) 523-8L' 1. Both oral and written comments will be considered bythe Baker County Court in deciding whether to apply.
