• 7 Page 5 Hells Canyon Journal October 5, 2011 [ Death Notice Becky (Gover) Hansen, 58, longtime Halfway and Baker City resident, died on Fri- day, September 30, 2011 at St. Alphonsus-Baker Hospi- tal in Baker City. A celebra- tion of Becky's life and memorial service will be held at the Church of the Nazarene in Baker City on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. A potluck reception will be held follow- ing the service at the church. Those who wish to make a memorial donation in memory of Becky, may do so to Search and Rescue through Tami's Pine Valley Funeral Home P.O. Box 543 Halfway, OR 97834. Birth Announcement Weighing in at 6 pounds 11 ounces and a full 20 inches long, Joseph Edward Wixom arrived on September 23, joining the delighted Hunter family. Joseph is the first grandchild of Pastor Ron Hunter of New Bridge and the first nephew of Mac Hunter, who attended school at Pine-Eagle for the past few years. Ron keeps in daily con- tact with his daughter, Emily, who is little Joseph's mother so if you need "grand- pa stories," Ron is available to share them. Joseph and his parents, Mitchell and Emily Wixom, live in Merid- Jan, Idaho. ,.JOSEPH EDWARD WIXOM Birth Announcement Marlee Anne Mcghee was born in Baker City, Oregon at 12:56 a.m. on September 23, 2011 to Chastity Ander- son and Sharrieff Mcghee. Marlee weighed six pounds, ten ounces at birth and was 19.5 inches long. She joins brother, Nickolas, and sister, Eva; grandparents are Marla and Casey Anderson of Half- way, Oregon and Anthonette Hughley of Griffin, Georgia and great-grandmothers Carma Anderson of Halfway and Tina Bruhn. he was born. Death Notice Jean Densley Connall, 91, a lifelong Eagle Valley resi- dent, passed away Monday, October 3, 2011 in Coos Bay, Oregon. Salt Lick Success The fifth annual Salt Lick Auction, organized by Whit Deschner, was a big success. The contest drew 50 livestock artists' entries, a few forger- ies, and a lot of laughs. Between the auction items Forsea Ranches, also of Eagle Valley, won in the category "block that looked the most like Michael J. Fox" for the sculpture "Breaks of the Snake." First place went to Valerie .mann for"The Pitts" and the People's Choice award was given to John Heriza for "Ledge Creek #5." Community Choir To Begin Rehearsals The New Bridge Church of the Nazarene is preparing a Christmas musical, Bethle- hem Morning, and would like of 70 people. The performance date for this year is tenta- tively scheduled for Decem- bar 10. Rehearsals are Mon- day nights at 6:30 p.m. at the New Bridge Church of the Nazarene on Main Street in New Bridge.
