Page 13 Hells Canyon Journal May 29, 1996 Edith Jacks Edith Mae Jacks, 64, died May 20 at her home in Half- way of an apparent heart at- tack while working in her garden. Funeral services were held May 24 at Pine Valley Presbyterian Church; Pastor Bill Shields officiated; interment followed at Pine Haven Cemetery. Edith Jacks was born June 26,1931, in Pollock, Idaho, to Steve and Mamie Hinkley Dunn. She grew up in Riggins and Ola, Idaho, and attended school in Fruitland. She mar- Tied Bruce Jacks in Paye te, Idaho, August 18, 1947. She and her husband Bruce had and great grandchildren. She was very hardworking and helpful to her family and strangers alike. Edith was a very loving and caring wife and mother who will be missed by her family, who knows she will always be their own personal loving and car- ing guardian angel. Edith Jacks is survived by her husband Bruce, Halfway; daughters Linda Kent and her husband Frank, Enter- prise; Ila Jordan and her hus- band Ron, Emmett, Idaho; Donna Seyer and husband David, Grangeville, Idaho; and Janet Jacks, Donnelly, OBITUARY Bernice Wilson Bernice Marie Wilson, 86, formerly of Halfway and liv- ing in Grangevilie, Idaho, died May 2 I, 1996, at Syringa General Hospital of cancer. Graveside services were held Saturday, May 25, at Pine Haven Cemetery, Halfway; Reverend Bill Shields offici- ated. A memorial service was held Sunday, May 26, at the Grangeville Church of the Nazarene, Pastor Doug Wil- son Officiated. Bernice was born August 26, 1909, at Lyons, Nebraska, a daughter of Dallas Ray and Idaho and Rosilyn Jacks of Ellen Turen Coffin. She re- Halfway; seven grandchil- ceived her education in Lyons. Nebraska, where she taught school for several years. They later moved to a farm near Lyons, Nebraska, and later farmed near Rosalie, Ne- braska. In 1944, they moved to Eugene, Oregon, before returning td the Lyons- Rosalie area. In 1949, they moved to Pierson, Iowa, where they bought a movie theater. They lived there for 25 years. Bernice also taught school while in Pierson. They retired in 1971 and traveled before moving to Halfway, Oregon. Earl passed away in Sep- tember of 1977. Bernice re- mained in Halfway until 1991, when she moved to a Grangeville, Idaho, to be near her son. Bernice Wilson is survived by one son, Ray Wilson of Grangeville; two daughters, Janet Robeson of Woodinville, Washington, and Mary Daggett of Rosalie, Nebraska; one sister, Doris Dudkowski of Stayton, Oregon; 16 grand- children, 40 great grandchil- dren, one great-great grand- child and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
