Page 11 Hells Canyon Journal May 29, 1996 Receives Citizenship Award Photo by David Baker ASHLEY BELL, 12, A FIFTH-GRADER at Halfway Elementary School, receives a special award from Eagle Valley EMTs Anna and Daryl Steenhard for her cool thinking during a medical emergency earlier this year. Ashley was at the Richland home of Caroline and Jack Coming on March 22, when their 10-month-old grandson, Sage, was severely burned as he pulled a large coffee pot from a counter. Ashley is credited with reducing the severity of the burns by wrapping Sage in damp towels until EMTs arrived. Along with the award certificate, Ashley received a gift certificate for Main Street Care in Halfway. Position is a 24 hour work week and will begin July 1,1996. Applicant must have: 1. Working knowledge of land use laws and regulations including urban growth rules. 2. Map reading skills. 3. Expertise at grant writing. 4. Ability to work with the public and other agencies. 5. Knowledge of municipal ordinance writing and adoption procedures. 6. Computer friendly. Applications will be accepted until 4 p.m. June 13, 1996. Applications may be on application forms or in the form of a resume. Application forms can be obtained at City Hall, 125 W.
