Page 3 Hells Canyon Journal March 20, 2002 Slide Show Travelogue Set for Tuesday Whit Deschner of Sparta will present his travelogue slide show entitled, "The Descent of the Shangra Kola," at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 26 in the library at Pine Eagle High School in Halfway. The slide show is a 35-year collection of his world travels looking for the perfect whitewater river. It's a show that's seen a bit of world travel itself, having been pre- sented in Scotland, Wales, England, Ire- land, Canada and the United States. "Just because the show is river-oriented, don't let that keep you away," quips Whit. "The main emphasis is on humor and travel." Whit doesn't exagger- ate that last point. His shows are well known for a liberal dose of ir- reverent humor. Countries included in the show are Pakistan, India, Nepal, Tibet, Ja- pan, Indonesia, Austra- lia, New Zealand, Tur- key, Britain, and the OUTnWeSl"ern ts~ers ~ ~rnpler VlaT~ O ' Saturday, March 30 ,@ 1 t,,.. x II II II xC LAND FEED St SEED.
