Jason and CJ live in Prescott, Washington, where Jason works on a wheat farm. The fire reportedly started in a com- mon wall between the kitchen and garage of their new home and is under investigation. Ja- son and CJ have two daugh- ters, ages 7 and 1 1/2, and two sons, ages 5 and 3. Scott Ford, Jason's boss, said, "They lost everything," adding that he is part of a community-wide relief effort to get the family back on their feet. LaRee (CJ's mother) and Joey Young will be going to Prescott on January 19 to help them and take the things the local community has do- nated already. You can drop off any donation to LaRee by calling 541-742-2687 or Todd Robinette at 541-742-5301. Halfway Market and Old Pine Market have donation boxes set up for non-perishable foods as well. The family has been receiv- ing donations from the Walla Walla Community Projects (see it on Facebook), Red Cross, Prescott Community Church and from friends and family. Things the family still needs are kitchen storage items (Tupperware or Rubbermaid- type storage containers), cook- books, spices, hangers, laun- dry baskets, canning equip- ment, jars, canner, dressers, underclothing, towels and washrags, dish towels and rags. Clothing sizes are: Ja- son, medium/large shirt, 29x36 pants, shoe size 11; Christen, medium shirt, size 7 pants, shoe 9.5 wide; girls, size 7 shoe, size 2 youth and 18-24 months, shoe size 5; boys, size 6T, shoe size 11 kids and 4T shoe, size 10 kids. Zoey Markell Knutson Dot Rager Birthday Reminder Former longtime Pine Val- ley resident Dorothy "Dot" Rager, who owned and oper- ated the Spartan House with her husband, Lyle, is cel- ebrating her 90th birthday on Saturday, January 19.
